Knowing the Reasons for Faith
This site is focused on explaining the most important matters of the Christian life and our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. There are certain core beliefs common to all followers of Christ, and it’s important for us to know not only what we believe but also why we believe it. Otherwise, we’ll be at a clear disadvantage when we share the good news of the gospel with others.
The site should also be helpful to those who want a more clear understanding about the nature of God and man, how man is alienated from God, and how sinners can be reconciled with Him.
There’s no reason for anyone to take a giant leap up faith when committing one’s life to Christ. Although no one is saved just by knowing the essential facts about Christ, it’s also true that you will not be saved unless you do know the facts.

Here are the beliefs which I believe are many of the most important matters of the Christian life and faith. We’ll examine them and give reasons to believe:
- God exists;
- Jesus Christ is both truly God and truly Man;
- God is a Trinity (i.e., one in essence and three in Persons);
- The Bible is the inerrant Word of God;
- We have all sinned and are deserving of condemnation;
- God loved us so much that He sent His only Son to live among us and die in order to suffer the punishment we deserve;
- God raised Jesus from the dead and Jesus ascended into heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father and intercedes for His people;
- Faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved from damnation;
- Faith is a gift of God;
- God enables our faith to endure so that our salvation is secure;
- Genuine faith and repentance are inseparable;
- Our good works never contribute to our salvation, but they will necessarily flow out of a loving obedience to the Lord;
- The Holy Spirit abides with all true believers to set them apart and empower them to live a godly life;
- A judgment day is coming when Jesus Christ will return for His church. He will separate and save all of those who belong to Him by faith from the rest of humanity.
